How it works

AI reads each page
Pages that already contain real text are copied directly. Scanned pages are read by AI models, one page at a time, so nothing gets skipped.

Get editable Markdown (opens in any text editor or Word) and an EPUB e-book with a table of contents.
What gets cleaned up
Headers & page numbers
Repeated running headers, footers and page numbers are removed from the text.
Broken sentences
Sentences split across two pages, and words hyphenated at line ends, are joined back together.
Chapters & contents
Chapter titles become headings, and the e-book gets a clickable table of contents.
Footnotes
Footnote markers stay linked to their notes, so they work in the e-book.
Tables & formulas
Tables are kept as tables; mathematical formulas are written out in LaTeX.
Resume any time
Long books can be paused and continued later, even from another device.
Questions
Who can use PDF Studio?
Anyone can request an account. The administrator approves each new account before it can be used.
How accurate is it?
Clear, straight, well-lit scans come out very well. Blurry photos, handwriting and faded pages give more mistakes, so check important passages against the original.
How long are my files kept?
Uploaded PDFs and results are deleted automatically after 14 days, and you can delete them yourself at any time.
Is there a page limit?
Each account has a daily allowance of AI-read pages. Pages that already contain real text don't count toward it.
Where are my pages sent?
Scanned page images are sent to AI models through OpenRouter to be read. Please don't upload documents you are not allowed to share with third-party services.
